- The Alliance The Midcoast Maine Fishing Heritage Alliance was founded in the Summer of 2009 with the express purpose of helping to preserve the fishing way of life in Midcoast Maine. Based in Port Clyde, Maine, the Alliance was founded by a group of concerned community members and fishermen who wanted to create a non-profit entity that could help in the fight to preserve what has been a way of life in these waters for centuries.
